So You Just Started an Employee Resource Group, Now What?
Whether you’re at a small startup or a large company, employee resource groups (ERG) are critical to fostering inclusion, allyship, and anti-racism within an organization. But, in order for an ERG to be effective, executive leadership must trust and empower employees to lead. Easier said than done. Sheena Bryant, software engineer and earthtones founder, and Sha Hwang, COO and executive sponsor, will share lessons learned after almost three years of building earthtones, Nava’s Black ERG. In this candid conversation, they’ll share what’s worked, what hasn’t, and how they’ve built trust (and sometimes failed) along the way. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how to work with their executive team and vice versa to ensure diverse identities and experiences are reflected and valued at companies of all sizes.
